Proposed US-based online higher education institution

Knowledge without borders.
Ambition with purpose.

A plan to establish an independent, legally authorised US online higher education institution, with a long-term pathway towards recognised institutional accreditation and international online delivery. The institution is not yet operating.

Institutional disclosure: This is a development-stage proposal, not an operating university. No US state authorisation, degree-awarding approval, institutional accreditation, student admissions, approved degree programmes, campuses or academic partnerships are claimed. The use of “University” describes the proposed project name only, not an approved institutional title.
Our academic vision

A serious university model for the digital age

The proposed KOHEN Global Online University draws design inspiration from established international approaches to academic organisation, online professional education, independent research and practice-oriented legal study. It aims to combine rigorous subject structures, original research, case-based learning and a high-quality digital library. Its proposed academic model is separate from KOHEN PLATFORM's commercial operations.

Academic standards

Subject governance, published curricula, academic integrity, quality assurance and transparent programme outcomes would be prerequisites for launch.

Global accessibility

Online-first delivery designed for international learners, with accessible mobile and desktop experiences and clear English-language materials.

Proposed academic structure

Schools & Faculties

Eight long-term academic subject areas are envisaged, not operating faculties. The initial regulatory feasibility will focus on a small number of business and finance programmes.

School of Business & Management

Strategy, leadership, entrepreneurship, operations and global enterprises.

School of Finance & Banking

Corporate finance, capital markets, banking systems, trade and project finance.

School of Law & International Commerce

Commercial law, contracts, arbitration, corporate governance and legal research.

School of Global Trade & Logistics

Commodity trade, procurement, supply chains, trade documentation and risk.

School of AI, Data & Computing

Artificial intelligence, data science, software, cyber security and cloud systems.

School of Energy & Infrastructure

Power generation, data centres, PPP, project development and sustainable infrastructure.

School of Public Policy & International Affairs

Economics, public policy, international institutions and development.

School of Professional & Executive Studies

Continuing professional development, executive learning and applied case studies.

Academic architecture

Proposed programmes & study pathways

Initial feasibility prioritises a small number of business and finance degree programmes. Other undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral and executive pathways are longer-term concepts. No qualification is currently offered; any degree would require explicit legal authority.

Undergraduate-level study

Broad foundations, disciplinary core subjects, tutorials, essays and capstone projects. No degree is currently offered.

Postgraduate-level study

Advanced seminars, specialist research methods, professional case studies and dissertations. No degree is currently offered.

Doctoral research vision

Supervised research, ethics, original contributions and research dissemination subject to future institutional approval.

Executive & Professional

Potential short courses in international trade, banking, AI leadership, project finance and corporate governance.

Law & Professional Practice

Proposed commercial law, arbitration, legal research and practice-oriented study; no regulated legal qualification is offered.

Digital Campus Services

Future learning management, virtual seminars, student support, digital assessments and accessible research tools.

International development roadmap

United States first · Canada & UK later

The United States is the selected first jurisdiction for legal establishment and degree-authorisation feasibility. Florida and Texas are preliminary state candidates, not approved locations. Canada and the United Kingdom are later expansion markets, subject to their own requirements. There are no operating campuses or regulatory approvals.

United States — first establishment

Evaluate Florida and Texas, create a separate legal entity, secure relevant state authorisation before offering degrees, and pursue suitable institutional accreditation independently.

Canada — later expansion

Assess provincial rules for cross-border distance education, degree recognition and any future local establishment.

United Kingdom — later expansion

Assess higher education regulatory requirements, degree-awarding powers and protected university title rules before any local operation.

United States institutional establishment

From proposal to authorised institution

US incorporation alone does not grant permission to operate a university, confer degrees, or claim accreditation. The project will progress only through documented approvals and independent academic governance.

01 · State feasibility

Compare Florida and Texas requirements, protected institutional names, online delivery, degree authorisation and student safeguards with qualified US higher education counsel.

02 · Independent governance

Design the US legal entity, governing board, faculty oversight, financial controls, academic integrity and conflicts-of-interest policies.

03 · Academic readiness

Develop curricula, qualified faculty, library resources, learning systems, assessment, accessibility and student services.

04 · Regulatory approval

Apply for the relevant state authorisation and obtain express permission for any degree programmes before recruitment or enrolment.

05 · Accreditation pathway

Identify an appropriate US Department of Education-recognised institutional accreditor; accreditation is separate from state authorisation and is not guaranteed.

06 · Responsible expansion

Review interstate distance education and each international market before enrolling learners in those jurisdictions. Recognition of degrees abroad is not automatic.

Illustrative planning scenario

Capital and delivery roadmap

Working capital planning range: USD 5–8 million for an initial multi-year establishment scenario. This is not a verified quote, regulatory minimum or secured financing. Actual requirements depend on state, entity type, staffing, programmes and approval timelines.

First 90 days

Legal feasibility, state comparison, name clearance, academic operating model and five-year financial plan.

Year 1–2

Entity and governance development, faculty and programme design, systems, compliance and state application preparation.

Year 2 onward

Launch only if the necessary permissions are granted; develop accreditation eligibility and a measured international strategy. No launch date is guaranteed.
